The Two-Year Pilot Program

From 2023 until 2025, five historic cemeteries in Dallas have committed to the restoration and revitalization of a portion of their grounds. These cemeteries, plus their guiding North Star — the Friends of the Warren Ferris Cemetery — form the Constellation of Living Memorials Two-Year Pilot Program.

The goal of the Two-Year Pilot Program is to provide a cohesive plan and proof of concept, demonstrating that our model can:

  1. expand urban green spaces

  2. enhance climate resiliency

  3. lower the urban heat island index

  4. strengthen local pollinator populations

  5. knit together migratory wildlife corridors

  6. create opportunities for community learning

  7. Discover new headstones to connect lost family

We hope to eventually expand the program across the state of Texas.
