History and Nature Walk Tour: Oakland Cemetery

Join us for a tour through our developing black land prairie restoration area as we discuss the preservation project and the history of the graves in that area. See first hand what we are getting so excited about when we use the term "prairie remnant". Get an up close look at our night herons and nesting ducks. Learn about the lives that we are honoring through this preservation work. For decades this area of the cemetery was neglected and forgotten these graves were over taken by vines and brush. As the Constellation of Living Memorials area progresses this once forgotten area will be brought back to life and we will be highlighting those that rest peacefully within it's borders.

Wear closed toe shoes and be prepared to take a walk
